Re: The Dreaded "F" word!! :-O

Thanks, Kathy! And everyone else who commented!

Gosh, I didn't mean to upset anyone--if you can BF your child, great, if
you can't, what are you gonna do, starve your baby? ;-) I personally was
disappointed in *myself* that I wasn't able to exclusively BF Sarah due
to her not gaining weight problem, but I certainly don't hold it against
anyone else if they can't/couldn't BF. :-) We do what we have to do for
our babies. :*) I do feel that BF is better for babies, but I don't
think formula is poison or anything ;-) if you give it to them, just not
my first preference...I was extremely blessed to be able to exclusively
BF Maya til she was 2 y/o, and I was hoping to repeat that with these
two, but then again, I was also hoping for a natural birth and wound up
with a c-section, so we don't always get what we want. <shrugs>

Anyhoo, the good news is we went to have the babies weighed again
yesterday (the twins are officially 4 weeks old) at the LC's office at
our local hospital, and Sarah has gone up from 6 lbs 4 ounces last
Wednesday to 6 lbs 13.4 ounces in a week!--they have said they expect
the babies to grow an ounce a day, and she picked up almost 10 in a week
so that was great. :*) DH is still a bit nervous about stopping the
supplemental feedings, although we are going to cut back on them a
bit--also I am going to be pumping more often to save up more BM so we
can totally phase out the formula (dang that stuff
is expensive!! A small bottle is ~$8 here and lasts just a few days!)
and supplement with BM only. My milk is coming in much more now so DH
will still be able to give Sarah her bottles when he's home to reassure
him, and I'll still be providing the BM for her and we'll be saving $$$$
as well...the best thing about BFing, IMO. :-)

BTW, we weighed Sam out of curiosity (remember, he was the one who first
had trouble gaining weight due to being tongue tied)--last week he
weighed 6 lbs 14 ounces--yesterday he weighed 7 lbs 8 ounces, so the
tongue clipping is working GREAT!! So much to be grateful for here. :*)
Both of my babies are thriving and even though it's challenging, things
are working out here now that DH has gone back to work...don't know what
I'll do when my little gofer Maya has to go back to school in a few
weeks though! ;-) Think she'd skip second grade to stay home and work
for me for free? ;-)

Maya says, NO WAY! ;-) Oh, well, guess I'll have to keep changing those
poopy diapers myself, LOL.
