Few people have noticed the 30th birthday of the world's first
successful in-vitro fertilization birth, Louise Brown. She was born
30 years ago, today, (July 24th) after the first in-vitro conception
that was carried to term. Today, in-vitro fertilization is quite
prevalent .... my own soon-to-be 13-year-old daughter, is a product of
IVF.
A month and a half ago, I posted a short blog entry about the world's
first infertility stamp, produced by ****tugal. Upon publication, I
realized that it would be fitting for Louise's birthday, as it briefly
notes her experience. I am re-posting the entry today, in honor of
Louise's claim to fame as the first IVF baby.
Happy 30th Birthday, "In Vitro Baby," Louise Brown!
