Hi all! I don't think I've really done a full on update on the girls
since their 4 month check-up so I figured I should! The girls are
doing really great. They just had their 9 month check-up last month
(they are going on 10 1/2 months pretty soon here - I can hardly
believe it!) and their pediatrician was very pleased with their
development and progress. They are now within an ounce of each-other
in weight (same as when they were born!). Kayla is 17 bs 1 ounce and
Haley is 17 lbs. They are in the 25th percentile for weight. They are
the same exact height (27 1/2 inches I think it was) and are in the
50th percentile for height. They are both sitting, crawling, standing,
and cruising the furniture now. So they are right on schedule to walk
"on time". We are so excited with how well they are doing, considering
their pediatrician had told us months ago not to expect them to "catch
up" until possibly as late as 1 year old. It looks as if they have
already "caught up" though - yay! Kayla has 8 teeth and Haley has 6.
They say some words (dada, bobba, mama, nana (banana), kitty). And,
they actually "ask" for food when they are hungry (bobba or nana since
bananas are their favorite and they think all food is called that -
lol!). They are very loving babies (could be due to the fact that we
practically smother them with kisses every day - lol!) and they are
constantly giving "loves" to us, other people, and their toys - lol!
Haley dances, they love water/swimming, Kayla gives 5, they eat lots
of different foods, they have started trying to feed themselves, they
climb, they have both tried letting go completely and stood for a
second before falling, and they can hold their own bottles! We can
tell they really love each-other too. They are always touching each-
other/talking to each-other/ "kissing" each-other. It is the sweetest
thing I have ever seen. :)We're so looking forward to celebrating
their 1st birthday come September. To us it is more than just the
excitement of them turning one. It represents the culmination of a
year that started out hard and has turned into the most wonderful of
our lives. It is a time to celebrate the end of the girls being
classified as "preemies" now that they are all caught up. It is a time
to celebrate all of the people who have done so much for us and been
so sup****tive the whole way through. And, BTW, thank all of you so
much for your sup****t from the beginning of my battle with IF. I never
would have made it through without you. Or at least I wouldn't have
made it through AND kept my sanity - lol!
